Day 40 - Madrid - Seville
This was the most ridiculous 24 hours of the trip.
Left the condo in Stockholm at 2pm
Took the metro to the central station - 15 mins
Took a bus to the airport - 2 hours
Waited at the airport - 2.5 hours
Flight from Stockholm to Madrid - 4 hours
Went out with our friends we met back up with - 8 hours
Took a train from Madrid to Seville - 2 hours
If you added that up, you realized we didn't sleep that night so we basically put our stuff in the hostel, hung out with our friends, then went back to the hostel to pick up our stuff and then head to the train station.
So all I can say is that Madrid looks nice at night! I'd like to go back for longer than 8 hours sometime.

Day 38
One of our professors contacted a Virginia Tech alum who is now the dean of an architecture school in Stockholm to see if he would be able to meet with us. It just so happened he was taking around a group of 5th year architecture students from Cornell that week so we walked around with them for one day. It was great being able to talk to architecture students from a different school.
Lunch- amazing herring dish with onions and lingenberries

Day 37 - Stockholm
We arrived in Stockhom via train. I am in a condo now which belongs to a family friend of one of the friends I'm with. We are so happy to be in a home and not at a hotel or hostel! We even made our own dinner - spaghetti with Swedish meatballs!
Day 35
So today we found Snohetta's studio BY CHANCE! Their studio sits right on the tip of the harbor overlooking the water which is right near their Opera House. The whole front side was glass so we could see into where the desks are. It was a Saturday, but of course there were still a couple hardworking architects in there.
Then we went back to the Opera House during the day and we bought tickets for a recital for the following evening!
Day 33 - Oslo
We flew into Oslo from Copenhagen and it was just as smooth as the other flight! Our hotel was also 2 blocks away from the train station so we didn't have to lug our suitcases very far down the cobblestone road. The first night we went on a photo adventure to the Oslo Opera House designed by Snohetta (a Norwegian based firm). This building is probably my favorite that we've seen so far.
View of Oslo from the rooftop
Having a little fun on the roof
Day 31
We went on a walking tour on our own around the city and did a tad bit of sightseeing.
The Little Mermaid
The Royal Playouse (front left) and Copenhagen Opera House (back right)
Nyhavn - beautiful harbor with a colorful block full of cafes
Day 30 - Copenhagen
We woke up at 4:15 am to leave our hotel and head to Charles de Gaulle Airport for our 7 am flight to Copenhagen. The subway system doesn't run that early so we took a taxi and we were at the airport in no time because no one was on the road. The whole check in process was ridiculously smooth also. It took us about 25 minutes from arriving at the airport to get our luggage checked, go through security, and arrive at our gate. The flight was only about an hour and we got to our hostel in no time. We stayed at Danhostel in Copenhagen which was the nicest hostel yet. We were all exhausted so as you can guess I didn't take any pictures... just took a 4 hour long nap.
Overall, successful day.
