Day 57 (Riva San Vitale)

Virginia Tech has a campus in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland where a couple of my friends are studying architecture so I took a 15 minute train from Como to Riva to hike up Mount San Georgio. It was incredible and also the hardest hike of my life, but who would miss a chance to go hiking in Switzerland? I was told by the students at Riva that you can see the Alps from the top, however I'm not sure which direction they were in. Nevertheless, I saw the Alps

Day 56 (Ticino)

First day in Italy! We took a bus from Como to Ticino to look at several works by Luigi Snozzi. 

 Then none other but Luigi Snozzi himself shows up at one of his buildings!

Abbaye du Thoronet

The acoustics in this abbey were amazing! Two girls in my studio stood in the apse and sang Edelweiss from The Sound of Music

We took a day trip from Avignon to Nimes to see La Maison Carree and the Norman Foster library alongside it
